are treating the death as suspicious. >>> about 150 people came together in san francisco's mission district demanding a stop to violence against women. demonstrators carried banners as they marched. it came after a woman escaped from a would-be rapist on sunday morning. the woman fought the man off and screamed for help. he went away after neighbors opened their windows and turned on the lights. the victim got the word out about her ordeal through social media. >>> in apartment residents have released surveillance video in hopes of identifying the person who has been stealing their mail. the tape shows two people breaking into the building on goff street. the thieves then stole the contents of the mailboxes. the police did not respond until yesterday after the same two people broke in again. >> this is a very busy city so we have to prioritize a lot of our calls. we have a and b and c priorities. as much as we would like to be everywhere, it's very difficult. >> residents say police told them postal inspectors would have to handle the incident since the theft was from inside the mailbox. >>

of people gathered along san francisco's waterfront at midnight to ring in the new year. but it was a holiday celebration marred by violence. ktvu's alex savidge tells us a 12-year-old boy was among three people who were shot. alex? >> reporter: well, as thousands packed the waterfront last night, someone opened fire here on embarcadero close to pier 2. a total of two people shot here. one of them a 12-year-old boy. he was hit in the foot but is expected to be okay. now, this happened about 11:30 last night, as people were waiting for the fireworks show to begin in san francisco. along with the boy wounded, a man was grazed in the hip by a bullet. san francisco police say both of those shooting victims are being treated for nonlife- threatening injuries. at this point, it's unclear why the shooter began to fire or who their intended target was. just about an hour before that, there was another shooting along the waterfront. this one close to fisherman's wharf, near jefferson and mason. one person shot in the hand. police say that person's injuries request are not life- t

the green bay packers! bowl and niners quarterback quarterback colin capernick and the san francisco 49ers with a record night at candlestick park. green bay struck first, on this first quarter capernick interception. it's seven - nothing. but then cap-ernick came right back, running 20 yards to tie the game at seven. then a crucial first half turnover. packer rookie jeremy ross fumbles on the nine yard line. the niners recover and would later score. michael crabtree with two t.d. receptions. the niners turned it into a rout in the third quarter. overall, cap-ernick ends the night with 444 total yards, two touchdowns runs and two scoring passes. a record breaking performance by the 2nd year quarterback. 49ers win, 45 to 31. that means a return to the n-f-c championship game. and sets them up to either play >> there were 70 thousand fans in the seats at the stick.and then there were thousands more packing bay area sports bars. as they cheered on the niners. kron four's alecia reid braved the crowd in walnut creek. tables were reserved well in advance. celebrating the 49ers was a no-brainer.
